Quality Control

Realization of quality control and monitoring is based on a sophisticated system: the data is being controlled both during fieldwork /by coordinators, who accompany the fieldworkers and realize return visits/, and during data processing and coding /by phone caller and coding group/. In case of qualitative surveys the quality is controlled taking into account the presence and correspondence of recordings and transcripts.

During quantitative survey the quality control (QC) is conducted in the following directions:

  1. Joint visits: Coordinator accompany the interviewer during interview and note his/her faults. In case of existing problems coordinator gives instructions to interviewers both concerning interview conduction and sampling. At the end of each day coordinators give reports on each interviewer they accompanied.
  2. Return visits: After gathering the questionnaires, not less than 25% of them (selected from the questionnaires of each interviewer) are selected and checked by coordinator by visiting the addresses marked on the questionnaire.
  3. Phone calls: After gathering the questionnaires, not less than 25% of them (selected from the questionnaires of each interviewer) are selected and checked by calling the telephone number marked on the questionnaire.
  4. Quality monitoring of the filled-in questionnaires : The monitoring is mainly focused on the content (correspondence/contradiction of the answers, systematic errors, etc) and technical (completeness of the questionnaire and other subsequent details) sides.
