IPSC presents CSB Index summary
10.11.2009

During a Civil Society Leadership Network seminar, which was organized by several partners from Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova and held in Odessa, Nov 3-5, 2009, IPSC director, Mr. Grigoryan has presented a summary of several researches conducted by the Institute regarding the current state and tendencies of strength of relations between the civil society and business sectors in Armenia, which can be shortly tagged as Civil Society Business Cooperation (CSB) Index.

According to the presentation, the Government/Business cooperation in Armenia can be valued 6 out of 10, Civil Society/Government cooperation can be valued 3 out of 10, while the cooperation index between Civil Society and Business sectors is only 2 out of 10.

Furthers analysis leads to the concept, that CSB index can be risen not only through mutual understanding of cooperation benefits for both sides by NGO representatives and  businessmen, but also by natural weakening of Government-Business links, which can lead to Civil Society acquiring its traditional position of intermediate between the State and the Business, more as a partner for both, that as a competitor or enemy, as it is currently perceived.
