IPSC Announces Scholarships - for distinguished research papers in Sociology - First time in Armenia!

 Dear Sociologists,
 We are delighted to inform that IPSC announces 2 research scholarships in the field of Sociology for distinguished papers received from students of all faculties of sociology from Armenian universities. Applicants must be current students of BA degree 3rd and 4th year, or MA degree and should send the following materials in Armenian  to scholarship@ipsc.am by December 31, 2009:

 - Filled in Application Form (click here to download),
 - Complete CV with the list of available publications,
 - Motivation letter (1 page long),
 - Statement of Purpose (800-1000 words) with detailed research action plan,
 - 1 academic recommendation letter.

The scholarship intends to promote research activities of the 2 selected students, by a monthly amount of 50,000 AMD for six months period from 01.03.2010 to 31.08.2010.

During the mentioned period, the winners should implement a sociological research or develop a sustainable methodology in the frames of the following topics:

 - Network Analysis: current state of political elites and formation of quasi-elites
 - Politics and Innovation: How to implement social marketing in the sphere of politics
 - Norms and laws in Armenia: how to promote law obedience
 - Public Consensus in Armenia: the study of consolidating factors
 - Government-Society relations: how to make the isolation less severe and promote cooperation and understanding.

The selection of the applications will be done as a joint action from IPSC specialists and YSU Sociology Faculty staff, and will be based on anonymous and transparent review of the applications. Main selection criteria are:

 - socio-political actuality of the proposed research topic
 - methodological innovative approach
 - high quality of the filled-in application form.
